Chips and Dip…. anyone?

Been thinking on this for quite a while..

A Lazy Larry with a lip around the edge..and a bowl in the centre…

Finally got to it… European Wild Cherry with Tasmanian Blackwood accents.

I was going to and still will… make the “dipping boards”made popular by  fellow Lumber Jock “closetguy” .

A mate threw up some pottery bowls.. Had not used them yet.. then figured that I could use these bowls in a space in the centre…

Will post a full blog on how this was done…

As I am not a woodturner, I turned to a router and the Torque Workcentre..

I have seen a similar lipped platter [without the centre part] made with a router jig.. but the simplicity and ease of using the Torque made this really fun…

This is a quick peek at how easy it was…  The new dust collection system..[Nilfisk Vacuum and Supa Separator] worked extremely well.. in fact no dust on the bed of the machine..

More on this system as soon as there a little more room…  there seems to be a 3 metre and a 2 metre Torque Workcentre living in my workshop.

About Lazy Larry

Just a woodworker sharing some of the things learnt the hard way... so you don't make the same mistakes...
