Something to look forward to…

Last Saturday I spent an absolutely fabulous day with the Caboolture and District Woodcrafters Club…

They had purchased a RouterMaster several years ago and while there was some use they were not getting the most out of the machine… Last year I did a short demo on the  Torque Workcentre at the clubs workshop and they were very impressed and wanted to buy one.. alas no money in the kitty..

Recently I was approached by one of the members, Barry, about running a full day workshop… to enable some of the club to be certified in the use of the TWC and then be able to teach the other members….. He figured if the guys paid to go to the training session they would be more attentive and get more out of the day… we ended up with 9 participants… A very nice number to teach… not too many, allowing everyone to have a go at each step of the way…and enough that there was interaction…

I won’t go into specifics but towards the end of the day, I set up a template to do a sign with the Torque Workcentre using the copy attachment …. at first only 3 blokes were interested in making the sign but by the time we had cut some timber to the required size… nearly 800 mm by 150 mm BTW….. everyone wanted to join in and have a go at making a sign… and they got to take it home with them…

Well the day went over so well that the club WILL be buying a  TWC in the next month or so… now that the finances are a little healthier… and

I was contacted by Neville, who arranges classes for another local wood club at Bribie Island… The Bribie Woodies…..The club bought a machine last year…and again not using it to it’s full potential…

A tentative booking for another seminar has been made for the Saturday after we return from our holiday in NZ… As the club already owns a TWC  all I have to do is just drop by for the day with a few little extras and have a bit of fun… and show then the many and varied ways the TWC can be used in their club…

Now that is something to look forward to…

Any one who would like to book a seminar please contact me to arrange details…even if you don’t own a Torque yet… we can certainly organise that for you too…
