Old Fashioned Wooden Tool Tote.

No not a tool gloat.. this is a tool tote… for toting tools…

A friend of mine has a son who loves woodworking and is having a birthday this Saturday…Asked me to make a tote on Monday… for delivery before Saturday…

Short notice I know but I managed to knock this up yesterday…

The routered name was done by a mate Ken the day before.. Then I only had to make the box joints on the Incra Router Table and assemble… the 2 coats of Tung Oi Finish are drying as we speak..

She will pick it up this afternoon…not bad for a first attempt at box joints on the Incra..

I used Camphor Laurel for the ends and sides with a ply base and a pine dowel for the handle..

The last pic is of the tool box prior to sanding and finishing.

And yes I cleaned up the run…

Dimensions… Small… only 12 inches by 8 inches and 10 inches high….Stock is just over 1/2 inch thick.

Great job Larry, I tried making box joints with one of those box joint router bits.Terrible, then I found I was using wood that was too thick. I used 3/4 and it says you can’t use much over 1/2 inch stock. You’re job is terrific looking. Very nice finish. Cool, old time, had one like it with a leather strap.
