A day on the mountain.

Got up early yesterday and headed up the mountain to Toowoomba… what a lovely place… cold, windy and wet but still a lovely place.

Took the TWC up to the Toowoomba Woodcrafters Club at their clubhouse/workshop located in the Showgrounds for a Demo…what a turn out.. over 40 folks turned up from all over to see the TWC… nice to have a group genuinely interested enough for quite a few to travel up to 2 hours to attend. There were members from the Laidley and Pittsworth clubs there as well as a couple from the Triton Owners Club of Toowoomba who have a workshop just nearby…

As usual did not get the camera [read i-Phone 4] out until half the guys had left… but kinda busy at the beginning… and then busy eating the BBQ lunch supplied… being in the mountains certainly gives you an appetite…

Ok… here are the pics.

Just a few of the general lay out of the workshop.

As you can see we were all rugged up.. got up to 10 degrees Celsius and then it rained…

Did quite a few different operations with the TWC. The usual … dressing a slab…. cutting a circle … pin routing…. trenching…. and

copying….Here we have Aaron with Stella…… we made a random shape on the bandsaw and then used the copy attachment to replicate the design on a bit of melamine…

Stella, who is an artist, liked it so much she had Aaron sign it…

We also made a picture frame… when I get a copy of the pic I will post…

I took up the jig for drilling angled holes for wine bottle balancers along with several blanks cut from Camphor… these were given to various members of the clubs as souvenirs ….That went over a treat…

So back down the mountain… just over 400 KM round trip…. a wonderful day spent with some fantastic woodworkers… all in all …. what life is all about…

That’s all for now from the wandering demonstrator…

Looks like you had a great time and made a whole bunch of new friends, must be easy for a likable person such as yourself. Plus making your company a bunch of money. Hope you are well paid for your kindness and generosity.
