Next step.

The next step in milling the timber for the Open Weave LL is to resaw on the  bandsaw… this is done so as to not waste such wonderful timber.

You may notice that I have the Magswitch Resaw Guide on the right of the blade… I have been using it on the left and it has felt wrong…

Since all my other fences are on the right, I thought maybe it would work better on the right…The table and blade must be perpendicular at 90 degrees… I used the Wixey Digital Angle Finder… works a treat… and whilst I was at it made sure the bearing on the fence were at 90 degrees as well… used a bit of paper doubled over as a shim…

Once this was set… the cuts were made… check out the results…

Even the Purple Heart cut beautifully…

All this was achieved with a 1/4 inch blade… 6 Teeth Per Inch [tpi]Finish dressing and then the thin strip ripping can commence..

Looks like you have done a top job there! Top fix to make it feel right!

I’ve always wondered how that Magswitch guide works. Apparently very well. Thanks for the demonstration.
