Remember “the Doors”

No, not Jim Morrison and the Doors…. the doors to the dart board cabinet…

Well the dart board cabinet is finally finished and has been picked up and I can now post the pics…

I love the bookmatched panels

Handmade door handles.. rare earth magnets to hold the doors closed..

Black felt behind the dartboard and blackboard painted door inserts…

And wooden hinges.. with a brass pin…

The cabinet is mounted to the wall using a french cleat and the mitre corners of the carcass are splined with purple heart…

Door frames are Narra [New Guinea Rosewood] carcass and panels are Queensland Maple…Finished with several coats of satin poly sprayed on … using a Earlex 5000 HVLP sprayer… and buffed with beeswax…

    wooden hinges? that’s awesome!

never used a hvlp setup before, are they worth the $$ in your opinion?

Beautiful door panels, but those hinges are way cool. Nice build, would look good mounted anywhere.

I’ll bet that is one present that is envied by all that see it. Great job.

Dangit Larry, I gotta stop visiting your page. Spent the last few days researching hvlp setups and adjusting my budget 😀
