My little shed…

Everyone should have a little shed… even those who have big sheds…

Well mine was to house the Ride-on mower and other gardening equipment but when the missus saw a rat… all bets were off… They had laid claim to the shed for nesting…

So I put in some timber… about a cube of Silky Oak… and some stuff…about 3 years ago…

Yesterday I cleaned it out and now only has the timber and some good stuff…one being the OEM fence that came with the Carbatec cabinet saw… I replaced it with a TSLS 32 from Incra…keeping it incase I sell the saw…

Could not remember having so much silky oak… and it is well seasoned and dead straight … still rough sawn but will not take much to dress it down…

The long boards in the centre of the first pic are about 14 inches wide…and 10 feet long… more than an inch thick…[350 mm wide by 3 metres long and 30 mm thick.]
Some of the boards are 3 inches thick [75 mm approx]Kind of a wood gloat… Pics of the wood store later… now that it is tidier… can actually see the concrete floor… and move around without dodging loose timber…

Nice looking stash! Silky oak looks really nice when finished, shame I’m allergic to the dust 😦

  2. Lotsa’ great wood to play with, Larry!

    Nice shed, Larry!
Now you need to add some horizontal racks and lay out that oak so it doesn’t warp.

In your hands, that silky oak will become things to be treasured.
