Over the last few weeks pt 1.

I have been busy with a multitude of different endeavours… over the last few weeks.

So as a start to this series… here are a few pics of a different use for the laser…

Japanese wood block printing.

Take a blank of timber… in this case New Guinea Rosewood.

IMG_2974and engrave a reverse image on it…using the laser allows such fine carving… and at a fraction of the time to do it by hand… about 75 minutes.

The lighter unengraved part will be the actual print… by painting the block and then using it to print on paper.

IMG_2976Waiting for a copy of the finished print… but it apparently worked a treat…
